Kareena and Saif United at United States

Work has often kept Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor away from each other. But for this one time, the lovers are united by work.

After accompanying Saif on the sets of Imtiaz Ali’s film in London for about a week, Kareena had gone to Los Angeles to shoot Kambakht Ishq with Akshay Kumar while Saif continued shooting in London. The lovers were separated again by work. But now, Saif is also headed to the US.

However, this time it is not exclusively to be with Bebo (as he has done umpteen times in the past) but to shoot the second schedule of his first home production with Imtiaz Ali in San Francisco.

While in the US, though Saif and Bebo won’t be in the same city, whenever they miss each other all they have to do is catch a flight and they could be together again within hours.

In fact, the buzz is that Saif deliberately planned a US schedule for his movie because he knew that Bebo would be shooting there around the same time. However, director Imtiaz Ali denies this. He says the US schedule was planned long way back.

After the US schedule, the film’s shooting would be about 90 percent complete. The remaining portions will be shot in North India.

The movie stars Deepika Padukone opposite Saif.

Engagement Photos of Konkona Sen and Ranvir Shorey

Rumours are rife that Ranvir Shorey and Konkona Sen-Sharma are as engaged to one another as can be, but neither party is willing to talk about it.

When Ranvir was asked why the secrecy, he said: “It’s a personal choice. We like to keep our personal life away from the limelight. All I can say is I’m very content with my life and career.”

Ranvir would much rather talk about his film with US-based Indian filmmaker Mira Nair. Titled How Can It Be, it also has Konkona. They’ve worked together before in a wife-swapping film, Mixed Doubles, and Madhur Bhandarkar’s Traffic Signal.

“But this project is very special. It is a short film - part of a series on human rights made by the likes of Jane Campion<, Gus Van Sant and Jim Wenders. Mira's film is about women's emancipation and we shot it in New York. Konkona plays the central character, but my role is no less pivotal," Ranvir revealed. The role went to Ranvir after Mira's favourite Irrfan Khan turned it down. "So I believe," says Ranvir. "I think he refused it. But Mira says I was always her first choice. In fact, I met Irrfan in New York when we shot with Mira. He was doing another short film with Mira co-starring Natalie Portman." Konkona was all but signed to play Tabu's role in Mira Nair's The Namesake. She had opted out because the dates clashed with her mother Aparna Sen's 17 Park Avenue. Ranvir says working with Konkona is an easy experience. "It's an advantage to work with a friend. You can speak your mind freely without the fear of offending the other party." But it wasn't same with his Ugly Aur Pagli co-star Mallika Sherawat. "There were a couple of times when we had ugly run-ins. But overall she has been very nice to me. Once, when I was ill, she got me food. Mallika is the star of Ugly Aur Pagli. Not me."

Bollywood is slowly catching up Hollywood films. Sex sells and babes know how to make the guys feel weak.

Mallika SherawatThey say sex sells. And yes, it sells like hot . The naked truth is hot babes know how to make the guys feel weak in the knees and take away their reasoning power with steamy moves. Moreover, hot shakes make hot bucks.

You hardly find Hollywood films sans sleaze these days, and Bollywood is slowly but surely catching up. Item numbers have become an inseparable part of Bollywood today with almost every film carrying a raunchy number. So, you can't blame grandmas and grandpas when they refuse to watch a film or two with you because they may feel uncomfortable watching skimpily clad girls appearing on the big screens as if they are too poor to buy good and warm . The irony is these girls are paid handsomely for appearing in minimum attire. This is why Bollywood actresses have no qualms taking up item numbers though they demand maximum flesh show.

Including sexy number to a film irrespective of its relevance to the story started way back in 1960s when actress Helen danced to such numbers. She danced to the number "Piya Tu Ab To Aaja" in the film Caravan in 1971 and then did a more. Then many actresses followed her footsteps. There is a long line of actresses who have done item numbers like Shilpa Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai,Rakhi Sawant, Koena Mitra, Lara Datta, Kareena Kapoor, Shamita Shetty, Dia Mirza,Bipasha Basu and Mallika Sherawat. There are also professional item girls like Malaika Arora Khan and Yana Gupta. Actors are also not lagging behind. Abhishek Bachchan had done an item number in Rakht and Shah Rukh Khan in Kaal. But there is a huge difference in the content and purpose of item numbers then and now.

Kareena Kapoor Only small time heroines who had not much offers in store used to take up item numbers when it first started. But as time went by, it started changing its face along with the content and purpose. Today, struggling actors and newcomers take it up as a springboard to instant stardom. Another interesting aspect is that even established heroines have no inhibition to join the party. The simple reason is it makes quick money. Moreover, item girls are no longer looked down by the audience as it did years ago.

The trend still continues and it is unlikely to die down in the near future. Bollywood sex bomb Mallika Sherawat had recently set the screens on fire in the number "Mayya Mayya" in Guru, starring Bachchan and Aishwarya in the lead pair. Kapoor's sizzling dance number "It's Rocking" in Kya Love Story Hai is currently rocking on the television screens. The fact is there are people who enjoy watching pretty girls making steamy moves.

Anyway, nobody can complain as long as they do not cross the red line. Supply will be there as long as demand exists. And of course it will experience a slow death once the demand falls.

Deepika Padukone feeling ecstatic after being called the hottest girl

Model-turned-actress Deepika Padukone, who is set for her second release Bachna Ae Haseeno, is feeling ecstatic after being called the hottest girl, according to a recent magazine poll.

“I really didn't expect it. I'm really excited. People always used to call me either cute or pretty, but no one ever called me sexy. I take it as a compliment,” Deepika said. Although the young actress is flattered by the title, she did not feel even a tad embarrassed.

Katrina and Salman's birthday plans

Voted as the “Sexiest Woman in the world”, beau queen Katrina Kaif will be celebrating her birthday in Ooty with her partner and Bollywood’s bad boy Salman Khan.

It’s been heard that Salman will be traveling all the way to Ooty, on 16th July, to celebrate his girlfriend’s birthday, putting aside all the rumors of his break-up with this gorgeous babe. Katrina is nowadays shooting there for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani with co-star Ranbir Kapoor. The film is been directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.

Recently there had been rumors about the couple’s break-up and that Salman slapping Kat baby twice, but they managed to put everything aside and proved everyone wrong.

In the mean time they were spotted at many nightclubs, restaurants, parties and recently at Vipul Shah’s, Singh is Kinng’s music launch, too.

We wish Katrina Kaif a very happy birthday in advance and best wishes for her upcoming movies also.

Imran maybe pranky but he can’t forget perfection!

Making a successful debut with Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na, Imran Khan may look like a simple, quiet and cute boy, but in reality this youngster is indeed very mischievous. While shooting for the film, the actor made life hell for his co-star Manjari Fadnis by his scary pranks.

"Imran is a prankster on the sets. We had a ball, all of us," says Manjari, recollecting the time when Imran scared her out of her wits in an eerie villa where they were shooting by making ghostly noises in the dark.

"I am not the type that gets easily scared by the word 'ghosts'. I have read a lot on after-life, But this was one experience that really made me scream," she grins recollecting the event.

Well, everything is right while it’s done by stars and it’s more so while there is someone like uncle Aamir behind you all the while. But there is something that Imran should always take care of. Guess what?

As uncle Aamir doesn’t like anything which is not perfect to the core and he is the man behind making Imran a superstar, Imran should at least keep playing on the chord of perfectionist in everything he does. Even while plotting a prank!

When Aishwarya and Abhishek had a huge fight

Well, the things are not always the same as they look like. This is how the B-town trend has been growing since its puberty.

Take for example the Bollywood couples who flaunt their giggling happiness in front of the media, quarrel and fight while those clicking flashes get away. I know you must be ready to give example of the recently hot couple Abhi-Ash.

Even I would be happiest with their example. But, you see, it’s Bollywood and no one can compare between matters of parde ke aage and parde ke pichhe.

You must be thinking of it as some kind of gag but I am in no mood to do so. Even you will get serious knowing about the matter.

Actually, there’s news that this beautiful couple who had gone to attend IIFA awards function, created a hell lot of a drama in the lobby of a hotel.

It’s been heard that Jr. Bachchan wasn’t happy about Ash getting a little loud while they attended the award function and wanted her keep a low profile. But Ash ignored him and continued to be her real self.

This gradually got into Abhi’s mind and by the time they reached their hotel the things got out of control and they had an open discussion regarding the problem. Later, it’s said that Abhishek asked his personal security guards to escort Ash to their room.

Hoops! No one should have ever expected things like that from a nice and understanding couple like theirs; especially when Big B always is found escorting and guiding his favourite bahu.

Should we think a little further about the Abhi-Ash future? Will Abhi again shout at Ash? Well, you still look doubtful! But you must understand that Abhi-Ash always look greener on the other side of the camera.

Akshay kumar as legendary hero in Rani Laxmibhai

A few days ago, Sushmita Sen called up Akshay Kumar. Nature of the call: strictly professional. Sush asked Akki if he would like to play the legendary hero of India’s first freedom struggle — Tantya Tope, in her dream project, Rani Laxmibai.

Says a source, “Sushmita is keen that Akshay plays Tantya Tope. She thinks that he fits the bill. She called up Akshay, and they spoke at length.”
The film in question will be Sush’s directorial debut and a period film on the life of the queen. Reportedly her ‘good friend’ scriptwriter-turned-director Mudassar Aziz is helping her with the script.

So, how did Akshay respond to Sush? Confirming her call to Akshay, a friend of the actor tells us, “Akshay is quite interested in the project. In a few days’ time, he will reply to Sushmita.”

Has Kumar made it a habit to play Tantya Tope, we asked? Isn’t Kumar supposed to play Tantya Tope in the co-production between the Indian government and producer Firoz Nadiadwala? “No, he is no longer playing Tantya Tope in that film,” Akshay’s friend reveals.

SRK and Sonam Kapoor in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

One question that everyone has been asking lately is will Shah Rukh Khan and Aditya Chopra be able to create the same magic as that of 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' once more?

The B-town will get the answer to this question on December 12 when 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' will be released. This movie also will be the coming back movie for Aditya Chopra as a director after eight years.

Insiders says us that superstar Shah Rukh Khan will begin shooting for 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' in May. Big B too plays a significant role in this movie. Sonam Kapoor will be playing the love interest of King Khan.

Different rumours about the storyline of the film are poping up each day, but from what we have heard this flick will zoom in on the love story between a 40-year-old and a teenaged girl.

Shahid Kapoor and kareena Phir Milenge

If you thought you saw the last of Shahid Kapur and Kareena Kapoor together on the big screen in Jab We Met , think again.

The duo will be seen playing a romantic couple again in Boney Kapoor’s long-in-the-making film Milenge Milenge .

In fact, Shahid and Kareena shot for this film before they did ‘Jab We Met’ together. But ‘Milenge Milenge’ got stuck in post-production stages for over a year and could not make it to the theatres. It was even speculated that the film was shelved.

But things changed after the success of ‘Jab We Met’. Since then, Boney Kapoor , the film’s producer, has been trying to get the movie completed.

Now, much to Boney’s relief, he has got Shahid and Kareena to spare a few days to dub for the film. Shahid has already begun dubbing his portions. Kareena will dub next. And there are also scenes in the film that require the two actors to dub together. That would bring the former lovers together again, even if in a dubbing studio.
Directed by Satish Kaushik , ‘Milenge Milenge’ is apparently inspired from Hollywood flick ‘Serendipity’.

Mallika Shrewat's humour on the sets of Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam

Mallika Sherawat seems to be enjoying working in director Sanjay Chhel’s film Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam .

On the movie’s shooting sets, Mallika shares an incredibly good rapport with her co-stars Rahul Bose , Paresh Rawal and Kay Kay Menon .

There is always some good-humoured banter going on between Mallika and Bose on the sets. The two have been good friends since they worked together in Pyar Ke Side Effects . Mallika often teases Rahul of being “an art-house actor” and tells him that he got his first hit film (PKSE) with her. Playing to Mallika’s tune, Rahul often jokingly admits that he is just a junior in front of her.

With Paresh Rawal, Mallika grooves in very well. Since Paresh plays an actor enacting emperor Akbar and Mallika plays an actress enacting Anarkarli in the film, she would often address Paresh as “Badshah-e-Alam” on the sets.

Kay Kay Menon, who used to be somewhat reclusive on the sets, was also not spared of Mallika’s antics. She would deliberately flirt with him to make him conscious.

Director Sanjay Chhel admits that during the shooting of the film, whenever things got tense, Mallika would crack a joke or show a few Anarkali dance steps to lighten up everyone’s mood.

Chhel also recalls a funny incident that happened when he and Paresh Rawal were discussing the weather in Gujarat.

I was hurt, I was angry: Emraan Hashmi

A success works wonders. Especially if you your last few films don't work. And if it's a solo hit, well, the joy knows no bounds.

Post JANNAT, Emraan Hashmi is grinning from ear to ear. JANNAT has come as a breather for Mukesh Bhatt, as also for debutante director Kunal Deshmukh and debutante writer Vishesh Bhatt, whose careers depended on how JANNAT fared.

"I was hurt, I was angry after AWARAPAN," Emraan admits, "The film hadn't worked and people had written me off. I had to prove the detractors wrong. The lull that followed only helped. I wanted to come back with a vengeance."

And it has been a terrific comeback for the talented actor. Three weeks ago, the presence of Akshay, Saif and Kareena couldn't ensure a terrific start for TASHAN. Big B and SRK's presence in BHOOTHNATH didn't help the film open to full houses either. But the excellent start of JANNAT did catch the traders by complete surprise.

"I was shocked as well. See, what went in favor of JANNAT were various factors. The buzz was very strong. Plus, a promo with content or even an attractive poster grabs your attention instantly. The first jhalak counts and JANNAT benefited for the aforesaid reasons," Emraan tells me.

What about his popularity with the youth? "Everything falls into place if the film is good. And I always had the gut that JANNAT would click in a big way," he states modestly.

Kareena Shahid's Last Bow Together?

Milenge Milenge, a film which has been in the making for the last two years, is now believed to be nearing completion. After the roaring success of Jab We Met, producer Boney Kapoor is trying his best to capitalize on the chemistry of his lead pair. Despite their break up, Jab We Met did great business.

Milenge Milenge may well be the last film that the duo of Kareena and Shahid ever do together. Apparently after the break up, there were a few hiccups during the film's post production stage. One hears that the former lovers refused to turn up for dubbing. But Boney is a patient and persistent guy. After six months of waiting, he has finally got the two actors to start dubbing for his film. It is being rumoured that the film which has been directed by Satish Kaushik, has been greatly inspired by Hollywood's Serendipity. But the director insists that the film is not a copy of the Hollywood flick but may have certain common elements.

Saif tries to woo Kareena’s folks at Zee Cine Awards

Zeenews Bureau

Mumbai, April 29: Looks like Chotte Nawab, Saif Ali Khan will do whatever it takes to not only impress Bebo’s parents but also earn the approval of the entire Kapoor bunch.

The actor, who was present at the recent Zee Cine Awards alongside his ladylove, Kareena Kapoor, was seen to be all smiles around the Kapoor khandan. After taking blessings in a typical Punjabi tradition of touching feet of daddoo Shammi Kapoor, the actor went ahead to greet and impress potential in-laws, Babita and Randhir Kapoor.

Story goes that though mum Babita is all right rather proud of her daughter dating someone who comes from a royal lineage, papa Randhir is not all that happy.

Even though, Randhir has not openly expressed his disapproval, it would still take Saif some time to come at par with Shahid as far as Bebo`s parents are concerned.

Well, we surely hope may the best man become their dammad.

Saif's son comforts on Kareena's lap

Saif and Bebo are getting ready to embark into a new life with the blessing and acceptance of all. Despite her busy schedule, Kareena finds time to spend with Saif’s children Sara and Ibrahim. She not only presented Ibrahim his favorite video games on his birthday but was caught by the media with Saiffu’s son sitting comfortably on her lap on their way to the stadium where Mumbai Indians took over Deccan Chargers.

Surrounded by numbers of media persons, Saif drove his car to the venue with Bebo sitting beside him and Ibrahim on her lap. They all gelled very well. Wedding bells may ring anytime as both the families have accepted their relationship and moreover, they declared that their marriage may take place post Tashan.

The hot duo had taken a short break from their daily routine and flew off to Maldives to spend a romantic time in each other’s arm. Saif and Bebo are packed with lots of assignments and returning from Maldives that would again resume their work. Unfortunately, Tashan, which is special to both failed to click at the box office.

Emraan Hashmi: JANNAT's soundtrack, a classic!

JANNAT is all set to release on 16th May. Now that would be the time when IPL would be nearing its peak of excitement which would only make this Mukesh Bhatt film (which deals with the world of match fixing and betting) even more contemporary.
Before that, there is quite some heat building up for the steady progress of the film's music as well, as evidenced by the constant escalation that JANNAT is seeing on the music charts. After creating quite some excitement over the month gone by, JANNAT has managed to pick on lead and has finally upstaged RACE which has been doing quite well for more than two months.
The track Judaai' has caught on well and by the time JANNAT would arrive at theaters, one can expect this Pritam soundtrack to hit the #1 spot, which is currently occupying #1 slot.
So why does TASHAN not seem to be the ultimate challenge for JANNAT anymore?
Well, the matter of the fact is that ever since its theatrical release, TASHAN is facing brick bats from all over which are definitely going to work adversely for this innovative album by Vishal-Shekhar. The composer duo has certainly come up with some of the most original music in a Bollywood flick but since the film is facing quite some heat, it is bound to impact the music popularity as well.
Coming back to JANNAT, now all what the music company and the film's makers have to ensure is to keep the momentum on for the album's promotion. After a slow start, as of now, things have started moving in the right direction. Now it's a matter of sustaining the heat lest JANNAT looses its track before the film's release.
Ever so confident about the music of JANNAT, Emraan Hashmi says, "JANNAT is one such soundtrack which would go down as a classic. If you thought that the music of GANGSTER and AWARAPAN were great, then JANNAT is simply phenomenal. It is out of this world."

Abhishek Bachchan records a track with Wyclef Jeans!

Musical history was made in Miami last week, when Abhishek Bachchan got together with rapper Wyclef Jean for a track called Hollywood Meets Bollywood to pay a tribute to Hindi cinema and his legendary father, Amitabh Bachchan.

Abhishek sang naughty patriotic words
like “Main yahan ka desi don” and “Khai ke banarsi paan“, drawing a direct and delectable reference to the senior Bachchan’s in the 1978 hit Don.

On March 29, not only did Wyclef Jean specially ask for Abhishek to do a track, he also flew down from his home in New York to Miami to record with Abhishek and composer Aadesh Shrivastava for a new album that will release in India in May.

Recounting the historical collaboration, the still-dazed Aadesh says, “It was unbelievable. Wyclef and I were discussing a track where we needed hiphop-rap in Hindi by an Indian star , when Wyclef suggested, ‘How about Abheee-shake?’ Naturally I jumped at the suggestion. I’ve recorded many songs with Amitji. And I’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to record with Junior who I know has a terrific singing voice.”

Plans were immediately concretized. Since Abhishek was working within a very tight schedule for Karan Johar’s Dostana in Miami, there was no choice but for Aadesh and Wyclef to take the melody mountain to Mohamed, so to speak…er, sing.

“They became musical soul-mates within minutes. Since I was the one who knew both of them, I thought I’d have to play intermediary. There was instant chemistry between Wyclef and Abhishek in Miami.”

The song was recorded the entire day at the Setai Recording Studio located in one of the poshest hotels of Miami.

“Abhishek, Wyclef and I had a ball recording the song till 2.30 in the morning. And then would you believe it, Abhishek headed straight for the shooting of Dostana which started at 4 am,” exclaims Aadesh.

Wyclef was so taken up with his self-selected crooning collaborator that, at the end of the day-long jamming session, he had only one thing to say. “Yehi hai right choice, AB Baby!“
