Aamir Khan to receive Deenanath Mangeshkar Award

Aamir Khan keeps saying that he doesn’t have anything to do with awards and award functions. Yet, being the powerhouse of talent that he is, every now and then you come across one institution or the other, bestowing an award to him!

The latest is that the talented actor-director has been chosen for the prestigious Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Award for his service to Indian cinema.

The awards are given in the fields of classical music, drama, social service, literature and theatre. Pt. Hridaynath Mangeshkar, president of Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Smriti Pratishthan announced the awards yesterday.

The award ceremony will be held at the Shanmukhanand auditorium in Matunga, Mumbai on the 24th of April.
