Salman said the whole controversy generated over this issue was "wrong" and "needless" and he was unnecessarily being dragged into it.
Salman Khan"I don't know anything about politics. Raj is a very dear friend. But there is no reason why I should be dragged into this controversy," Salman told the media in Mumbai on Friday.
Salman was ostensibly upset over media reports quoting some MNS members saying that several actors, including Salman, were among those who expressed their opposition to the gag order imposed on Thackeray on February 11.
In a press note, Salman stated: “Me and my family have been unnecessarily dragged into the entire migration issue with regards to North Indians. The media story stating our support with regards to this issue is misrepresented and I can confirm that me and my family have not made any statement or endorsed any campaign that supports this issue.”
“We ourselves being originally migrants are not in any position to support such claims. My father is a migrant who lived in Madhya Pradesh and my mother comes from Jammu and that qualifies us as migrants. We are a secular nationalistic family with members from different faiths, different communities. I think this matter has unnecessarily been blown out of proportion with regards to my family.”
